Spectra Venue Management is proud to announce the return of Bud’s Backstage Experience – a charity event in support of MusiCounts, the music education charity associated with the JUNO Awards. Taking place on June 6, 2018, this charitable initiative allows guests to experience the behind the scenes atmosphere of the entertainment industry while supporting a great cause. Bud’s Backstage Experience was first held in June 2015 and has since raised over $25,000 for local charities.
Bud’s Backstage Experience gives guests a sneak peek into the life of a touring artist. Dressing room tours will be staged to mirror what dressing rooms looked like when various artists performed at Budweiser Gardens. Additionally, guests can participate in a silent auction where exclusive concert memorabilia collected from various events at Budweiser Gardens will be up for bid. Highlighted items from last year’s auction include guitars signed by Eric Church and Green Day, a signed event photo of Elton John and a Canadian Country Music Association hockey jersey signed by participating artists.
The event will also include full backstage catering prepared by Spectra Food Services & Hospitality that will feature artists’ past requests that the venue has fulfilled. The dinner will be followed by a night of live music, dancing and ‘Tales from the Road’ to end off the evening.
This year, Bud’s Backstage Experience proudly welcomes Allan Reid, President & CEO of The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS), The JUNO Awards and MusiCounts, to talk about his experiences over his 30 years in the industry.
Spectra Venue Management is proud to partner with MusiCounts in the lead up to the 2019 JUNO Awards, which will be held at Budweiser Gardens on March 17. MusiCounts believes all children should have access to music in their school or community and puts instruments into the hands of kids that need them most. To-date MusiCounts has supported 20 London area school and community programs with over $175,000 in instruments and awarded 37 scholarships to London area post-secondary students. “As a proud host of the 2019 JUNO Awards, we are honoured to partner with MusiCounts to further help contribute to the support of local music programs. We’ve had the pleasure of hosting many incredible performances at our venue and we are excited to provide fans with this unique experience all while supporting an amazing initiative.” said Brian Ohl, General Manager of Budweiser Gardens. “Having Allan Reid participate in the evening is a great addition to the many wonderful speakers we’ve in the past. Allan holds an essential voice within the Canadian music industry and we’re privileged to hear his experiences as we prepare for the 2019 JUNO Awards at Budweiser Gardens”
"The JUNOS are thrilled to be heading to London in 2019, and we look forward to celebrating Canadian musical talent at Budweiser Gardens," said Allan Reid, President & CEO - CARAS, The JUNO Awards & MusiCounts. "I'm honoured to be part of Bud's Backstage Experience and grateful for Spectra Venue Managements’ support of MusiCounts. Together we'll help inspire the next generation of artists by putting musical instruments and equipment into London schools and communities."
Budweiser Gardens welcomes over half a million people through the facility doors each year, yet not many guests see the backstage area as it is off limits to the public. This area is the ‘home away from home for many artists, road crews, band members and production teams during their visits to our venue. While artists play to thousands of people under the lights on stage, a separate ‘show’ occurs backstage to ensure the performances run smoothly from start to finish, which is the premise of Bud’s Backstage Experience.
