Chris Stapleton Impresses At Budweiser Gardens

BG Reviewer

U.S. country star Chris Stapleton made authentic history in downtown London on Saturday night.

Before a sell-out crowd of 8,900 fans at Budweiser Gardens, Stapleton shared his soul-, whiskey- and blues-drenched hits and songs from his next album — while playing his first headlining concert in the True North. Toronto’s Lindi Ortega opened and we’ll get back to her.

Sunday Slams With WWE Live!

BG Reviewer

There are few things more fun than a WWE crowd. All live event crowds, whether it be a concert, a hockey or basketball game, anything is great. The difference between those crowds and a WWE crowd however, is that WWE fans can’t rely on a planned schedule. You never know when WWE is coming to town, so when it does, the fans come out. I arrived at Bud Gardens at 3:30 to pick up my tickets to see a crowd of about 60 people herded at the back gate attempting to meet any superstar arriving to the venue. Around the area fans could be spotted in their favorite wrestling tees, carrying signs and championship belts.

Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart

BG Reviewer

It never ceases to amaze me how Disney can take me, and anyone of my generation, back to the simpler times of our youth. Last night was the Canadian debut for Follow Your Heart, a new show for Disney On Ice! My kids, as I am sure many others, were so excited to see Frozen, Finding Dory and Inside Out- three new shows that Disney On Ice has yet to bring to the London area. The show did not disappoint, as I was swept away by the costumes, skating and choreography. The entire atmosphere made me want to be a kid again. The only thing I enjoyed more than the show itself was the look of excitement and joy on my daughters faces throughout the show.

Eric Church Delivers Epic Show at Budweiser Gardens

BG Reviewer

It had been three years since I last saw Eric Church perform, going back to November 2014. So to say I had been eagerly anticipating the Holdin’ My Own Tour would be the understatement of the century. That said though, after weeks of anticipation leading up to CMT Music Fest last July and the complete disappointment that came along with the last minute cancellation due to inclement weather, it was everything I could do not let myself get too excited. After all, what if it were cancelled again? My heart just wouldn’t be able to handle that.

Blue Rodeo Is The Perfect Valentine’s Date

BG Reviewer

It's that time of the year again. You're sitting at home, watching lovers holding hands, imagining the candlelit dinners, rose petals leading up the stairs, champagne bottles waiting by the bathtub ... You roll your eyes, thinking, here we go, another Valentine's Day lost to the winter blues. But then suddenly the clouds part, the sun peeks its rays out, teasing your cheeks. Out pops that cheeky little cherub with his arrow, gets down on one knee, and hits you with the proposition you've been hoping for. He pops the big question: will you go see Blue Rodeo with me?

Through the Photographer’s Lens

You have likely seen us, the gang with all the cameras, marching into the arena while you’re waiting for your favorite artist to take the stage. It's always a telltale sign that show time is getting close. I am one of the lucky few that has the honor of shooting some of the biggest musical acts in the world as they grace the stage at Budweiser Gardens.

Dierks Bentley brings the party to Budweiser Gardens

BG Reviewer

I fell for country music the same way I fell for my husband: unexpectedly, hard, and completely. Since then, I’ve had a lot of fun getting to know the movers and shakers of the genre. One thing I’ve learned about country music concerts: you can go into one having had the worst day of your life, and you’ll come out feeling almost euphoric. So, when I heard about the “What The Hell” tour, I could barely believe the list of performers. Dierks Bentley and Cole Swindell and Jon Pardi?! A jackpot line-up like that doesn’t come around often - which is why I was thrilled when Budweiser Gardens announced I was going to review the show for them in London, ON! Thrilled may be an understatement - I hopped around my condo so much I actually rolled my left ankle. Whoops.

Tim Hicks Shake the Walls at Budweiser Gardens

BG Reviewer

In 2014, I had a vague idea of who Tim Hicks was…..I could have probably belted out the chorus of a couple of songs from Throw Down, but it was an uncommitted type of fandom.  It wasn’t until almost an entire year later that the conversion to smitten fan was complete, when I happened upon Tim’s promotional performance at a local radio station in Hamilton for the release of 5.01
