I must premise this review by saying Cirque du Soleil’s OVO is an absolutely amazing show. I am so thankful that Budweiser Gardens gave me the opportunity to attend the show with my family and friends. We got to Budweiser Gardens and were told that our seats were being upgraded to the 100 level when we previously had picked up 300 level seats. This was great news for us and we looked forward to having even closer seats. The new seats were perfect and located on the side of the side. When entering the arena, the stage is set with a massive ‘ovo’ (egg) and there are characters walking around the room with bug catcher nets and little fluttering butterflies making it already unique from any other show.
Hello, June! We have officially made it to the warmer weather and you know what that means right?!? Festival season is upon us! If you’re a seasoned festival goer you’ve had your fair share of mishaps in forgetting essential items. With Trackside Music Festival just a month away, we wanted to provide you with some solid festival advice because we know you may be a little rusty from hibernating all winter.
Well that was indeed a #BeautifulFreakShow! An all Canadian Country evening in the ‘almost’ sold out RBC Theatre at Budweiser Gardens…anyone who thought about coming and didn’t…you missed one amazing evening, opened by the James Barker Band & High Valley. We arrived at The Bud with our #BGReviewer tickets in hand, early enough to check out the merch table and try out the “Bring Down the House Turbo”, the drink of the night. The drink was a mixture of beer and your choice of Palm Bay flavours.
When I hear the words Harlem Globetrotters, two things happen:
- I remember my Dad and I laughing our heads off at the Globetrotters' hijinks in the seventies
- I instantly hear Sweet Georgia Brown - the team's catchy theme song
Both of these things put a goofy smile on my face, and so when I learned that I had been selected to be Budweiser Garden's reviewer for the Globetrotters show on April 15th, I was thrilled!
Oh the look of joy and smiling face of a concert goer who lost their phone and we have it for them. Not so much as the grown man with tears streaming down his face as we break the news that no phone was not turned in. Sometimes, things really pile up, especially in the winter months, when we run out of space to store the items. During the winter months at any given time, we have at least 7 Rubbermaid bins full of items that were unclaimed by patrons attending concerts and sporting events that were found here by our ushers and cleaning staff after events.
My daughter Megan (11) and I were given the opportunity to attend the London performance of Annie. This beloved musical happens to be my daughter's favourite film and she was totally surprised when we walked into the theatre and saw the Annie logo on the curtain. She actually started crying because she was so excited to be there. She is a theatre child and loves performing, but had never been to a Broadway performance.
